This Nuke™ Compositing 3 Weeks Training Program covers all the basics and fundamentals of the process of digital compositing using the industry standard software Nuke X. Specially designed for beginners, new joiners to the art of compositing or switching from other software packages like After Effects. It provides the minimum knowledge and set of skills to start using Nuke as a real pro for film compositing, developing both artistic and technical sides, to train the eye to study and analyse the approach for the process compositing of two or more images from different sources keeping a photorealistic logic.All lessons are compositing-driven more than just a software-oriented course. The students will use footage and elements from real productions from both film and video sources.Students are encourage to shoot their own footage or bring their own personal projects.As part of the course, delegates will get extended access to Nuke for 12 weeks after the course in order to practice and cement their learning in their own time.With the course every student will receive a copy of Color Master Class for Nuke Compositors.

There are no specific experience requirements. The course is aimed both at those new to the VFX industry, and established professionals looking to develop their skillset.

Victor Perez is a senior visual effects artist with over 15 years of production experience in computer graphics, digital grading and visual effects along different countries. Nuke™ Official Certified Trainer by The Foundry®. As a senior digital compositing artist and 2D Technical Director he has a fine combination of both artistic and technical understanding of film postproduction and visual effects. Member of Visual Effects Society and usual collaborator of Nukepedia. Victor has worked and researched with Oscar® winner studios such as Cinesite and Double Negative between others. His film credits include The Dark Knight Rises (Dir. Christopher Nolan), Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows: Part I (Dir. David Yates, 2010), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (Dir. Rob Marshall, 2011), John Carter (Dir. Andrew Stanton, 2012), Lés Miserables (Dir. Tom Hooper, 2011), 127 Hours (Dir. Danny Boyle, 2010), and many others.
Do I need to bring anything to the course?It’s advisable to bring a pen and some notepaper. Otherwise, all you need is a receptive mind and your energy and enthusiasm.Is lunch provided?We keep you replenished with teas, coffee, biscuits and fruit. We don’t provide lunch – although there are a number of sandwich shops, cafes, restaurants close by, as well as a supermarket.What if I have to cancel?If you cancel more than 10 working days before the course date, you will get a full refund. If you cancel with less notice, or once the course has been confirmed the full course fees are still due. We will however endeavour to get you onto to a future course as and when we have a spare space. Although this cannot be guaranteed and will usually involve you being offered the place at short notice, we have a great track record of making sure people get their training – even it takes a bit of time.
